A group of friends went to the Rhienland Restaurant in Independence last night. It is a great German restaurant near the Square. Then we went to a friend's home to play games. It was a very nice evening.
A couple of weeks ago I won free tickets from a local TV station to the Chiefs and Jaguar's game at Arrowhead Stadium. I was very excited. . . . Well, it was the worst game so far this season with the Chiefs losing big. It was a miserable day that was hot and very humid, then rain at the end of the game and of course, our tickets were in the nose-bleed section (row 35 upper deck). Kathy went with me because Ralph was out of town and we left early as did most of the crowd.
Last weekend we went to Des Moines to watch the Drake Bulldogs beat Western Kentucky in a very crazy game. The final score was Drake 3, WK 2 but Drake literally gave them their goals. The first goal by WK was put in their net by a Drake player and WK second goal was a penalty kick (one on one with the goalie) for a hand ball in the goalie's box. The Bulldogs finally redeemed themselves by scoring the tie breaking goal for themselves! It was a funny game to watch. We enjoyed visiting Joe for a short time and it was a beautiful fall weekend.
Diane is off to San Francisco for her job this week. And my niece and her husband are going to Zanzibar for their belated honeymoon.
Fall is finally here in Missouri and getting cool but color of the leaves are pretty muted because of the warm weather.
